CLUB RUN // Sunday 4th December // Surrey randonnée

Welcome to the first ride of the CS Grupetto festive season.

We will meet outside the Roehampton Café, Richmond Park at 8:30am for an 8:45am roll-out.

The route will be around 75km, and after escaping suburbia, will wind its way along country lanes, heading out to take on the north face of the Surrey Hills just a little short of Shere. On summiting one of the legendary climbs, followed by a brief pause to take in the stunning views, a long open descent will flow into quieter back roads leading all the way back to the river at Hampton Court. A calmer stretch alongside Bush Park will then take us to a lively bunch finish back in Richmond Park.

For this ride we are teaming up with our friends at The Dynamo in Putney who will be selling post-ride food and drinks. Check out their excellent range at the-dynamo.

N.B. Westerners please note that this ride does not go out via Bushy Park but instead runs along the other side of the river (but it does come back via Hampton Court). This is pure disruption.

Yes, the route includes quite a few surprising innovations, and even some sections that I'm certain have never been ridden (by CS Grupetto) before.

Nice route, and it has an on-trend gravel section too.

River Lane, just by the Mole Valley Predators Football Club - bit of gravel and a river crossing. Pretty short sector though so should be fine.

If I get a pass I will be rolling on my 40mm rubber so no problems.

I've re-routed but we can of course still 'go gravel' and into the river if we want
