Cross season 2018/19

Nice one!

I seem to have won some BC points 4 of them) this season so will not be gridded right at the back.

My only goal is to not get pulled, assuming the 80% rule will be in force.

Is the race still 45 mins, or will it be an hour this time?

I think it’s a 40 minute race, but will check.

It is 40 minutes. I’ll treat it like a 30 minute race though.

I didn’t die. I did do a comedy topple on the Kinesis Camber into the course netting. It’s surprisingly sturdy.

My goal was not to get lapped. I got caught by the winner about 300 metres before the finish line, then Paul Oldham passed me with 200 to go. The third place fella was held off though.

Really challenging course, it was drying all the time so you never quite knew what to expect on most of the course. The middle third of the lap was brutal, really challenging technically and all the on/off transitions in sticky mud gummed up my pedals and my cleats.

My attendance at the Nationals will either be to watch or help out.

63rd out of 85. A bit disappointed to be beaten by a couple of London League regulars who I normally have the measure of, but bashing my left thigh up 12 days beforehand isn't ideal prep.
