    ROUTE NOT YET RELEASED

    TRO BRO LEON

SPORTIVE ON SUNDAY 21st AND RACE ON MONDAY 22nd APRIL

    122KMS WITH 16 RIBINOU SECTIONS

    17 EURO ENTRY

NEED GP MEDICAL CERTIFICATE LESS THAN 12 MONTHS OLD

PLAN WOULD BE TO DRIVE IN MY ESTATE TO PORTSMOUTH AND TAKE FERRY TO ST.MALO OR PROBABLY CAEN (BETTER FERRY TIMES AND OPTIONS) THEN 3.5HRS DRIVE WEST TO LANNILIS

MY CAR CAN TAKE 5 BIKES AND 5 PEOPLE MAX BUT WE CAN FIND OTHER VEHICLES IF MORE PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED

THERE ARE NIGHT FERRYS AND ALSO DAILY 'CRUISES' - ALL TAKE ABOUT 8 HOURS
THE SCHEDULE IS COMPLEX AND SOME ROUTES RUN ON CERTAIN DAYS ETC
IF WE SAID WE WOULD GO OUT AND BACK ON NIGHT FERRY TO CAEN IT WOULD BE 22.45 THURS OR FRI ARRIVING 06.45 NEXT DAY. SIMILAR SORT OF TIMES ON NIGHT FERRY BACK.
THERE IS ALSO AN 8.30 AM FERRY FROM CAEN TO PORTSMOUTH SO COULD TAKE THAT ON MONDAY MORNING AND BE BACK IN LONDON EARLY AFTERNOON. ALSO A 4.30PM OPTION WHICH COULD MEAN TIME FOR A MORNING RIDE ON THE LAST DAY

TAKE AN AIR BnB SOMETHING LIKE THIS https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/29866452?s=51

I WILL BE BOOKING THIS ALL UP OVER THE XMAS BREAK SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW

  • thank you. i will attend.

  • totally cool beans dude.

    all over it.

  • Does night ferry have a disco?

    Can we research this.

  • Entertainment is seasonal but these are big boats... the 10ish pm sailings will be probably a few pints then to cabin.... if we instead got the 4.30pm ferry back on the Monday we could have dinner etc and do some karaoke... and no need to pay for cabins presumably...

I need to check costs of cabins - 2 berth / 4 berth etc

Generally - I think my pref would be late Friday out... arrive Sat to register and check in and have a ride... do TBL and watch race on Sunday... then wake up and ride then catch the 4.30pm Ferry on Monday to be back in London close of play.

  • Easter holidays. Blast!

  • I’m in.

  • Indeed - Last weekend of the two week break so unless we go for a two week holiday will be golden

  • C’mon Sam. Can’t love your children that much...

  • A Good Enough Parent by Bruno Bettelheim

  • Entertainment is seasonal but these are big boats...

    Promising...

  • Kimbo was up for it but bailed last night. Trubs is off with his missus that weekend.

    GRAHAM

  • The all you can eat dinner was a winner last time I took the overnighter

  • When are we booking Ant?

  • If I dont need all the names for cabins etc I can book the ferry this weekend. I will confirm total cost before I book.

I think the night ferry on the Thurdsay and then the 4.30pm Ferry on the way back arriving around 10pm UK time.

On the sportive front - I think we can individually go onto the website and get the sportive place...

However, if its really true in 2019 that you need to send a cheque to pay then we can maybe just send one for us all.

  • Do you have cheque book?

  • Right, so I phoned Brittany Ferries and this is the deal:

Suggest out on Thursday night 18th April
    Two ferry options:

8.15pm Dep to St Malo and arrive at 8.15am £345

    OR

10.45pm Dep to Caen and arrive at 7.30am for £305.

The drive from St Malo is 2.5 hours to Lannilis and the drive to Caen is 4hrs s we would get there at approx the same time.

My preference would be the slightly earlier St.Malo ferry as we could have some food on board etc and a longer sleep/chill.

There is an additional cost for Cabins. 1-2 ppl ones are either £55 or £65; 1-4 ppl ones are £75/£85/£99 depending. Prices depend on if bunk beds and if inward/outward facing etc

My suggestion would be for a 1-2 person one and a 1-4 person one... so Say £150 total cost.

    On the way back...

There is a ferry at 10.30am from St Malo BUT I would suggest getting the 4.30pm ferry from Caen which arrives at 9.15pm in Portsmouth as this will mean we have the morning to have a quick spin and coffee. The cost of this is £305 for the car, 5 passenegers and all the bikes on the roof and back.

The total cost is therefore going to be c£800 or about £160 each.

What I do know is that I need ALL of the passengers details before I make a booking and some of the good cabins are getting booked up already so suggest we try and finalise who is coming in the next few days please.......

Yes @Ved I have a chequebook and I have also filled in the registration form on the website https://www.trobroleon.com/tbc2017 and we shall see what they ask for in due course...

When we have all registered on the website I will just send a cheque to them... its not a euro cheque book though right so will need to work something out on the exchange rate or ask them for another method

  • All details sound agreeable to me @Anton_D, including the earlier depart. I'm happy to pay as soon as you need the monies.

One question on registration - we're entering as a team with a registered license number? If so, what would that be? The fields are non-mandatory so I'm sure that could be worked out after.

Think I'm going to get some Hutchinson Sectors for the event as a Christmas treat and get them set up tubeless in the new year.

  • Ive put down that we are CS Grupetto but we arent registered and dont have a licence number so ignore I reckon

  • Nice one - I'm registered using that Google Form. If you need any of the deets to bring the registrations together as one payment to the organisers just let me know.
