That would be a good final prep for P-R.
-
• #28
Lets just start at 5am :)

When it's not dark at 5am yes.

Can we do it in Spring?! And maybe just come straight back up rather than looping West to Guildford - eek
-
• #31
Coming straight back up is terrible roads.

Lights Ved! We have the power! We can do anything and are not restricted by weather... we are gods amongst men

• #33
I'm game, if proposed date suits me.

Am well up for that ride @Señor_Bear.
Also RP to Windsor and back twice. A ride that I have affectionately called the 'Double Windsor'
I did London to Ditchling and back in -2 (but I don't like to talk about it)

Have put something up - 29th April as a starter

I’ve done return trips to Brighton twice (so has Nick), and I can confirm that many roads suck balls, as does pointlessly riding to the pier. Dov’s route looks good.

If I'm riding to Brighton and not seeing the sea and buying chips, what's the point?
I've enjoyed this route a couple of times.

• #39
I do agree with this - to get so close but not see the sea is madness yo...
This looks good and my initial thoughts were smash down and back rather than an audax tour
Will chuck this route onto the event page for discussion

You totally see the sea. You see it from the top of Ditchling.
Eating a fish and chip dinner in the middle of a ride is hardly ideal. Good for a one way ticket train ride home but not for another 100k of cycling.

Lies.

• #42
Naturally there will be a compromise - we can go down to the coast and hold hands whilst chugging gels

• #44
Thats looking North
-
• #45
Can you get decent fish and chips in Brighton?
-
• #46
I meant eating fish and chips mid ride. Don’t give a tinker’s cuss about seeing the fucking sea.
-
• #47
Oh, I See.

Bleugh

Speak for yourself. Love it. All the major food groups.

Can highly recommend Bankers chish and fips on Western Road, followed by eating it on the grass in nearby Brunswick Square.
I'll ride it with you Ant. Whenever you like.
