Cross season 2019/20

I thought I’d already started this thread, but looked to an update on it and couldn’t find it.

Anyway, it’s that time of year again and a few of us (@Demeaux @Sam and, hopefully, @biarittz ) will be racing the London Cyclocross League in Grupetto colours again.

Round 2 was held yesterday in Crystal Palace park, hosted by Brixton CC. @Demeaux rode the v40 race, his debut this season and did very well given his training has mainly consisted of running.

I’ve moved up an age category this year so am now in the v50 race. I rode the first round in Brighton two weeks ago, where I finished 14th, having been gridded on the fourth row.

Yesterday I was on the third row and got a much better start and came through the end of the first lap in 11th place. I then spent the rest of the race gradually reeling in some of those ahead of me, eventually finishing 7th, which I was pretty happy with.

That was the best use of that location. It's interesting, as I'd scoped that part of the park in my runtimes for possible training locations.

I really enjoyed that race (apart from getting dicked in the sprint for 65th). It was hard, but I didn't feel fucked until the last lap, so I paced it right (or not. who knows).
Anyway. For no real training and just running backwards and forwards to work each day, I feel alright.
