I sacked off a TT this morning due to only getting 3 hours sleep. Went out at 10am for my first spin on the road since my holiday and after less than 2 minutes of being on the main road I had my first idiot pass.
Americans (or I suppose Floridians) are much more polite on the road, although you do stand more chance of getting a gun or knife pulled out at you I guess...

You LOL, I am still using my Edge 305 on my CX bike. My 500 is useless, as soon as you pass under a tree it loses the GPS signal. I used it for directions when I rode over to the Isle of Grain, riding along an open road, not a tree or bush in sight and it kept telling me I had gone off course.
Thanks for the offer though, Dov.

This series of opens is only in July :0(
The Bexley 10s are still being run, but after complaints from locals they no longer finish in Eynsford village. Instead the start and finish lines are on the A20 down near the Eynsford turn off. This means the first 5 miles is all uphill (as opposed to 3 1/2 on the old course) so everyone gives it a swerve nowdays.
San Fairy Ann CC do a club 10 on the Harrietsham Q10/22 course on Wednesdays, they have events on the first three Weds in August? Course can only be described as rolling, with a gift hill finish. Personally I don't like the course as I don't have the raw power to push up each little climb, but if most can make August dates then I'm game. Just copying and pasting my post about a potential Grump TT Champs. Damo is keen, anyone else? You do get a cup of tea for free after, if it helps sway your decision. Come on Grumps, let's get a few of us together, sure beats a couple of hours off work!
In relation to stuff in the turbo thread (basically Damo's reference to grooming), there are a series of evening events on a fast-ish 10 course in Kent on every Thursday in July. Is anyone interested in riding on one of these evenings? It involves registering on the CTT website, then signing up to the event on whatever date is chosen. This does need doing 12 days before as that is the closing date. If no one has a previous 10 mile TT time in the past 3 years (I know Damo, Dan and Dommy have), you do run the risk of not getting a ride as places are allocated on fastest time first, not date of entry. It should be Ok though, I don't think any of these filled completely last year.
The course is down near Ashford, so a train ride out or a long slow ride is a necessity, unless of course you have a car (sorry Nick). You will need to be on a train leaving London before 4pm to avoid the ban, but first rider will be off at 6:45pm so you will probably arrive at a decent time beforehand, plenty of time to sign on and collect your number, and do a course recee if you want to (no warming up on the course once the event has started). The course itself is single carriageway, decent road surface, and is pretty quiet traffic-wise.

So, if you're still reading, is anyone interested? I could always also do it on my road bike for a level playing field and make it the official Grupetto TT Championships?
Any way, I hope a good ride was had by all today, especially the new members :0)
