It is a Medium/53
You see the full geometry here
https://www.boardmanbikes.com/gb_en/products/845-cx-team.htmlI agree with Ved about the comfort factor. With the large volume slicks on it is way comfier to ride than my titanium Lynskey.
The long wheelbase also makes it super stable which would be a bonus with a child seat on the back.

Does it have to be steel? If the little guy is going to be on a Hamax style seat they have their own bounce built in as part of the design so frame material will make little difference.
I might be selling my Boardman as I will soon be commuting on the Brompton and I can see it ending up never being used.
It's the CX Team model from last year. Aluminium frame with carbon fork, SRAM Rival 1x with hydraulic disc brakes.
Loads of clearance - I have 40mm slicks on it right now with full length guards and it has rack mounts.
I upgraded the wheels from the utter crap it came with to some lighter, less crap Cosine wheels.
If I do decide to sell you can have it for £500 and I can throw in a Hamax child seat in excellent condition too.

Don't forget a child moves around more than cheese so can upset that stability somewhat.
Not ridden with a child on the back of a road bike, only Nic's wide bar ladies bike, but have wondered if the narrower bars combined with aforementioned wriggling would make the handling more interesting.
I would also recommend gears. Child plus associated stuff plus child seat weighs about as much as having a second bike on your back. A second bike that is constantly trying to upset your balance.

I have edited the title as I don't think Brighton will such a good idea as it is bank holiday weekend and there is a ton of engineering works on all the Southern lines. Even if there are a few trains it will be a battle to get on with bikes along with all the half pissed day trippers heading home.
I will post up a new route shortly.

I think I may have fixed the shifter problem.
Took shifter off, stripped shifter, found cause of problem was return spring wasn't working properly. Managed to reattach return spring and it now seems to work - at least without any cable tension anyway.
Just need to get a new shift cable as it got destroyed removing it before I can reinstall and do a proper test.

Anyone got a Sram Rival left hand shifter they want to get rid of?
Mine just died on me and won't shift at all, the shit lever just flaps around uselessly with no tension on it.
I have now officially had enough of Sram, this is the third shifter that has died on me but I can't afford switching to Shimano right now so got to find a fix somehow.

The days when I used to be fit and rode Brighton and back seem like a hazy memory now. Lovely ride though.
Not sure I remember how to ride a bike right now, since moving I have been running which is something I never thought I would find myself doing. Not entirely sure my body is happy with that decision though.
If I can find time to get the bike out and try to recall what to do with it then I would love to ride with you guys for a bit of the return leg.
If that doesn't happen then I can definitely manage the fish and chips on the beach and halfway pint at The Evening Star leg ;-)
