Windsor or Box Hill Dash?
-
• #4
There seems to be some resistance to rides that have the word "hill" in them. We also haven't done a Windsor ride for ages. Mainly, because the roads are a bit rubbish. I'll take a punt on Windsor though. I'll take any advice on routes etc.
Also, I can't guarantee my attendance if there are fewer than 4 riders signed up.

I'll lead a Cotswold's ride if any interest?

Could do a JV with BRCC. They're doing a Chilterns ride.

Maybe look at the Bike Events 'London to Windsor' ride they did yesterday to see if they found any better roads. Had a quick look but couldn't find their route. Although I suspect the options are somewhat limited...

Below is starter for 10 if Windsor is the choice. I think a few amendments are needed to make it a bit better.

Let me dig out the route that goes to Quintessential Meats farm cafe, it is out past windsor and a nice route that has no hills. Could be an option if we want a decent cafe stop.

Actually might be a bit far for people - it's an 85km loop out and back from Hampton Court. Great breakfast though.

A note about Windsor.
The cafe where we used to stop by the bridge over to Eton is no longer there.
There is a costa coffee in Eton just over the bridge though, which undeniably serves shit coffee.
My preferred route, in via Virginia Water, out via Runnymede & Staines.
We are using Dan's route
