Wow....just wow.

Yeah, absolutely amazing. SUCH DRAMA. To recover like that from what looked like a slightly wobbly start. Good tactics from the Aussies swapping in a rested man but looks like they went out too fast. It's difficult to get your head round just how on the edge the riders must be.

A good write-up
Loving the Daily Mail comments section...
Great impression of Phillip Hindes :)

That was epic last night - I thought they were never going to pull that back.

Never in doubt....
Australian tactics have always been to go hard out and get GB to react.
Problem is it doesn't seem to work in the olympic finals. -

I think it was in doubt but they were saved by the raised, ribbed strips on the underside of the arms of their skinsuits. Marginally critical.

Mental :)

My marginal gains include trying to find somewhere to take a leak before a TT.

Lively riding from Cav. I wonder if he's done his accreditation?
Trott is definintely in a different class (to Cav). She made the Elimination seem effortless, and looked like she had plenty in reserve. Surely destined for Gold?

Here's what we've got today... Wioth Kenny, Trott, and James in action.
-

I'm not sure she's a different class (although she is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the women's competition). It's more that there is less strength-in-depth in the women's field. Plus Trott is nowhere near as good as Cav on the road. It's phenomenal really that someone can win four stages of the Tour and then get a silver on the track just two or three weeks later.

Interesting that the UCI have relented on their flat saddle rule (which I recall was inspired by the likes of Boardman and Obree) and now allow 9 degrees of tilt...

Yes, making the switch is definitely impressive, and Cav's silver on top of 4 stages is great. I do think that you can see the result of Trott having spent the last 4 years focus on perfecting her skills and technique, whereas Cav is clearly a little rougher around the edges. Although they are different personalities, so are entitled to ride differently :)

Some very intimate information about undercarriage care too. Who knew pubic hair was so important for preventing saddle sores?
-
• #48
Yeah, I didn't know. Jason should inform his waxologist.

Not sure Jaygee goes for the full BS&C.
Thanks will
