Dan RJ?

If you've got £800 you may as well go all out and get a warranty and newness for £999

100% do not buy that bike off eBay
-
• #30
Okay thanks for the input, I will steer clear of the option I posted, Ved's CAAD System Sixm option I could possibly make work financially. May have been too slow on the uptake but I will give it a crack.
-
• #31
And that is a great price new, good find! couple of options I feel much better about now :)
-
• #32
That bike is way too expensive at £800
-
• #33
Yeah I think that sold, but worth a go.
-
• #34
He has a viewing this week, I am now the back-up option
-
• #35
If you can get that, it's a lot of bike for money.

Buying bikes is not easy Phil. The choice is outstanding. Take your time (despite obvs being keen to get riding again) and tap us up for info. Mr Bear saved you a wasted trip to Notts.

You are very right, it's a tricky business. I appreciate the help from you all.

The golden rule is retail -50% is your starting point for a really good example, ok ones should just be avoided full stop
Upgrades are worth nothing unless you planned on them anyway i.e. the wheels you've always liked -

If you can pick up this week 200 quid!
I've always liked Trek aluminium frames.
Nice stop gap until you can afford something swankier.

Didn't even know that thread existed.

• #42
Its pretty good.
-
• #43
I can't access it. No fair.
-
• #44
What magic thread is that!

Another one to bite the dust. 58cm TT. Tiagra/105 10 speed. Previous owner did something with the bottle eyelets. Looks epoxied. Bolts have no problem screwing on or off.
I just rebuilt it from bottom up. Drivetrain is new, so are pads and cables, all bearings serviced. £250 -
• #46
That's a proper bargain.
Spend the other £600 on Dura Ace.
-
• #47
Thanks Ved!
I couldn't access the link either but found a what looked like the thread off the homepage. It looks like someone has already made an offer for £250 but im second in line again!

Was this it?

Ahh I was one minute too late, that Trek is the one I could find and am waiting on a response.
-
• #49
Are you user80097?
-
• #50
Unfortunately not, I have PM'd him and if number 80097 doesn't buy it, I will
Hmm okay, I'm obviously not up to scratch on components etc and it looked to be a good deal. Dan was excited about it the first time around.
