  • He sure as hell isn't putting out 15 w/kg for 45 minutes.

  • Cav's w/kg is famously low and nearly enough to get him kicked off the talent team in his formative years.

    Jason Kenny however can chuck out some mega watts and he's well light for a sprinter.

  • Maybe he plans to do it in 10?

  • JetFluid is the best I've owned. Not sure how it differs to the Fluid2 which is actually the unit I ordered.

  • I'm still riding in shorts and tee. It most definitely is not here.

  • Pedal faster.

  • I've got a free month of Trainer Road to give away if anyone wants it. I think you have to be a new customer to it though.

  • Ungh. About 3 or 4 weeks off the turbo, it feels like. FTP test for the next bit of the plan.
    8 min test falls apart after 4 minutes. 10 mins recovery, 2 mins into the next 8 min test, I call it quits.

    I am now very tired.

  • Sounds like you started too hard.

  • I did everything wrong. Deffo started too hard. Did too much in the warm up.

    Elation

    I even deleted the effort off of trainerroad by mistake.
    I'm just going to go back to 200.... And see again in 5 weeks.

  • I did an FTP test yesterday, started the first one too hard and hung on for grim death. Paced the second one perfectly, average power for them was within one watt.

    So grit your fucking teeth next time @Demeaux.

  • Did another hour tonight, felt yesterdays efforts on the last two interval blocks.

  • I tried the teeth gritting.

    The 4 mini warmups beforehand I went balls out. I think that was my problem. That and I'm a fucking wimp. As Ajax from the warriors might say.

  • I thought the point of trainerroad was that it gave you instructions and set the power levels?

    WTF are you lot doing?

  • It doesn't when you're doing a test because you don't know what power level to ride at. It's balls out and hold as high a level as you can for the duration.

  • I think hippy might be referring to Damo's balls out approach to the warm up. You still get numbers to follow for that!

  • Pffft, who pays any attention to those? It's balls on the line time.

  • Yeah but it gives you a warmup stage right? I assume with some suggestion at which to ride and does the pre-fatigue effort to burn off anaerobic capacity? Obviously the test isn't set power but Damo was talking about doing 4 warmups flat out which sounds to me not like a warmup at all. I thought there was guidance for this? Otherwise look online for a test that you can do consistently or it's a waste of time.

  • Not if you're doing the "I'm a lady, I wear lady's clothes!" 8min test it ain't. :P

  • Some of us race for a maximum of 50 minutes.

    I'll stick with the ladies' tests thanks very much.

    20min test or gtfo.

  • Damo got excited about actually doing some training for the first time in weeks, in not having to deal with a 2 hour bedtime routine, and forgot to keep his fizzy cock under control.

    I'm pretty sure, as I've gone straight to the specialism rather than doing build, it'll be alright in the end. It's just keeping fit isn't it? Let's not kid ourselves.
